Data

This policy is designed to let you know how we handle your data. Any information and data that you provide to us is controlled by the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) 2018, with which we comply. We will use your personal information and data only to provide you with services that you have requested from us, we will not share your data with any third party, except where we have a legal or regulatory responsibility to do so. After completing a transaction your data and the files and other papers relating to your matters will be stored for such time as we are required by law, after which we will destroy or dispose of them. We will not destroy any deeds you deposit with us for safe custody.

GDPR gives you a right of access to the data we hold about you by way of a ‘subject access requests’ (SARs). In cases where we are not required to provide you with information we hold about you, we will let you know. We want to make certain that your personal information is accurate and up to date so please ask us to correct or remove any information that you think is inaccurate.

Identity and Money Laundering

Before accepting instructions to act for you and, to comply with Money Laundering Regulations, we are required to verify your identity. Please help us to do this by giving us the information and documentation we ask for as soon as possible as we are unable to proceed with your transaction until this has been provided.

We have a regulatory requirement to identify, check and validate the source of any funds that we receive from you. By accepting our Terms of Engagement you consent to us making all necessary checks and enquiries needed for us to comply with our regulatory obligations.

It is the policy of Brogan Property Lawyers only to accept cash up to £350 from clients. If clients circumvent this policy by depositing cash direct with our bank we reserve the right to charge for additional checks we deem necessary regarding the source of the funds. Please be advised that it is our policy not to transfer any monies to third parties on our clients’ behalf.
